Daniel and Sylvia Get Green Cards; Return to Casa Hogar Jeruel

Worship Service at Casa Hogar Jeruel

Last year, Daniel was told that his application as a permanent resident of the United States was going through.  All he needed to do was come to the United States for a short period of time, sign a few papers, and everything would be complete.  Daniel was anxious to get permanent resident status, because it would make trips to the United States much easier for him.  The trips are important for helping to arrange the delivery of supplies donated to the orphanage from churches in the United States.  So, Daniel arranged to leave the orphanage in the care of his daughters, and he and Sylvia came to the United States.  Unfortunately, the process did not go smoothly, and he was not able to get permanent resident status.  Furthermore, he was told that he was not allowed to leave the United States.  If he left, may not ever have been able to come back to the United States, and his permanent resident application would be ruined.  Thus, Daniel was been forced to stay in El Paso with relatives while waiting for the situation to be resolved.  In the meantime, his daughters kept the orphanage going in his absence.

Update: November 1, 2008

Praise be to the Lord that both Daniel and Sylvia finally received their green cards over the summer, and were able to return to Casa Hogar Jeruel.  This is wonderful news because it means that Daniel can come visit churches in the United States without any of the limitations he experienced previously.  It also means that he can officially start a second-hand store in El Paso, which he intends to do to try to help raise money for the orphanage.  Daniel is very interested in using this new gift from God to benefit the orphanage.  If your church would like to hear more about Casa Hogar Jeruel, please contact us through this website so that he can arrange to visit.  Also, if you have items to donate, please contact us since Daniel may now be able to use these items to help support the orphanage financially.  To all those who were praying for this situation to be resolved, we want to thank you.  Please continue to pray for Casa Hogar Jeruel and all of the children who live there.

David Comes to the United States for Bible College

Daniel's son David has come to the United States to attend a Bible college located in San Antonio.  David is very excited to be pursuing an education that will help him with his future plans in the ministry.  David would like to help grow the ministry of Casa Hogar Jeruel by helping spread the word in the United States about the wonderful things God is doing there.  David plans to began classes in the spring, but he is still trying to raise the money for tuition, so the exact timeline is not certain.  Still, David has faith that the Lord will provide the necessary funds in order to advance the good work He is doing at the orphanage.

Please Help The Children At Casa Hogar Jeruel

Providing for the needs of the children who live at the orphanage is very expensive, even in Mexico.  Unfortunately, Casa Hogar Jeruel usually struggles to raise enough money to cover expenses.  Please help us by making a donation.  Your generosity will help ensure that Casa Hogar Jeruel will not have to turn away a child in need.

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 19:14
